FAIR LIMIT FL x/2x ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TEXAS HOLDEM POKER is played exclusively with three types of LIMIT. It is available in POT LIMIT, LIMIT and NO LIMIT format. These are so important that they are used to determine the type of game that will eventually be played. It is a known fact, that the betting and strategy for a NO LIMIT table are completely different to those encountered for a FIX LIMIT table. In the LIMIT format, betting is standardized. Each phase (Pro-Flop, Flop, Turn, River) consists of a total of 4 Steps with a specific Raise. It is the cheapest of limits. It allows players to call cards at a small cost, and this makes it a more active game. The initial position FOLDS are less. Players attempt to improve their hand, with investigative RAISES aimed at measuring the strength of their opponents. Everyone in the table see cards. By contrast, in NO LIMIT/POT LIMIT TABLES, the fear of exponentially increasing bets and the “ALL IN” option make things completely different. Very few cards are played and FOLDING is the rule. Aggressive PRO FLOP RAISES and HEAD TO HEAD ALL IN immediately after the FLOP constitute the picture. On the player’s side, problem begin when they realize as they play, that all three limits hide serious disadvantages. In particular, In NO LIMIT/POT LIMIT tables, the exponentially increasing bets and ALL IN strategies where anyone can bet at any time, and practically any amount, may offer the gaming freedom of each player doing whatever they want at first sight, but in reality this is just an illusion. With NO-POT limits in the mode, players are forced to play tightly. It is difficult for them to hide their good starting hands, because otherwise they won’t be paid for them, and thus they cannot be bought - even if they are bought, the game usually stops in the FLOP procedure, and the player wins minimal earnings. At the same time, they are always exposed to the appetites of a better hand that is difficult to read in the FLOP or a more catastrophic BAD BEAT scenario that might cost them their whole bank. Besides, what player with a (QQ) will not follow the other side’s ALL IN when the FLOP has come up (10 Q K)? Yet the (AJ) that the opponent happened to have eventually wins. Or what player with a (1010) would not respond with an ALL IN to the ALL IN of their opponent when the FLOP has come up (10 5 J)? Same as before, the (JJ) that the opponent happened to have eventually wins. BANK and HEAD TO HEAD ALL IN aggressive games can function well in the case of tournaments that eventually have to end, but at regular cash tables the philosophy is entirely different. Since not all players can create a respectable poker bank that will withstand BAD BEATS and ALL IN strategies, large banks always and forever earn the certain advantage and swallow up smaller players. Money accumulates. The number of player falls, turnover drops. For most players the game is played under powerful DISADVANTAGE terms. The game becomes UNFAIR. ENTERTAINMENT IS RARE. However, LIMIT tables are no better. ALL IN strategies may not be allowed and BAD BEATS may not be worth gold, but for someone used to playing at POT/NO LIMIT tables, FIX LIMIT bets go against any statistical betting rule imposed by the GAME. Opponents may call cheap cards in all the betting procedures PRO-FLOP, FLOP, TURN, RIVER, thus improving their hand, while the RAISES allowed not only do not increase progressively in order to force the opponent to pay the LEADING PAIR, but moreover 4 whole STEP-RAISES are required in order to allow someone to reach the maximum BET. For a fairer, more entertaining, more efficient game the solution is as follows. A new LIMIT that manages to combine the best elements of every limit (Limit/Pot Limit/No Limit), in order to approach the profits of No Limit tables for the players, while also not preventing the action/turnover/entertainment. FL x/2x Small Blind = x, Big Blind = 2x FAIR LIMIT. FOR A FAIR POKER. NOW POKER IS FAIR Pro Flop fold 3x-6x-10x Flop check/fold 4x-7x-11x Turn check/fold 5x-10x-20x River check/fold 5x-10x-20x FAIRLIMIT is exactly what its name says it is Pro-Flop (Fold-3x-6x-10x) First Pro-Flop bet = 3x = Big blind + Small blind = POT Second Pro-Flop bet = 6x = BB +SB + First Pro-Flop bet = POT Third Pro-Flop bet = 10x = Raise 4x (10x-6x) from Second Pro-Flop bet = = FIRST FLOP BET Flop (Fold/Check-4x-7x-11x) Turn (Fold/Check-5x-10x-20x) River (Fold/Check-5x-10x-20x) Three types of game can be played up to the TURN (example with 2 players) A) Conservative/defensive game ProFlop (3X) + Flop (0X) = 3X (bet per player) ProFlop (3X) + Flop (4X) = 7X ProFlop (6X) + Flop (OX) = 6X B) Game with one to two Raises in Pro-Flop/Flop ProFlop (3X) + Flop (7X) = 10X (bet per player) ProFlop (6X) + Flop (4X) = 10X ProFlop (10X) + Flop (0X) = 10X C) Aggressive game with many Raises ProFlop (6X) + Flop (7X) = 13X (bet per player) ProFlop (6X) + Flop (11X) = 17X ProFlop (10X) + Flop (4X) = 14X Average Amount = (Α+Β+C)/9 = [(3Χ+7Χ+6Χ) + (10Χ+10Χ+10Χ) + (13Χ+17Χ+14Χ)]/9 = 90Χ/9 = 10Χ First Turn bet=5x ,Second Turn bet=10x , Third Turn bet=20x First River bet=5x ,Second River bet=10x , Third River bet=20x In all three cases, FAIRLIMIT functions perfectly. It allows the LEADING PAIR to double the amount risked by betting on and asking for the First Turn bet and First River bet = 5x + 5x = 10 = POT It also allows the player chasing to improve their card to do so, with a Raise 10x at an opponent’s First (Turn or River) bet, with the risk of having to accept a doubling of Raise 20x, by an even better combination. In fact, that is the whole logic on which FAIRLIMIT is based on. It is not so interested in the table’s overall pot – which leads to exponentially increasing bets – but in the amount each player is willing to risk. By choosing to play at FAIRLIMIT tables, players know that they will be allowed to see up to the TURN, paying an AVERAGE of 10 times the SMALLBLIND, and hoping to DOUBLE or TRIPLE that amount if conditions are favourable. MORE EXPENSIVE – MORE AGGRESSIVE This is achieved : By reducing STEPS-RAISES to only (3) THREE, as opposed to (4) FOUR in the traditional LIMIT game. By a progressive increase in the BET from RAISE to RAISE and from procedure to procedure STANDARDIZED BETTING PROCEDURE Standardized betting for the PRO-FLOP procedure reduces the percentage of PRO-FLOP FOLDS at NO LIMIT/POT LIMIT tables, thus increasing the number of GAMES. The standardized subsequent STEPS give the player the security to buy cards because they know exactly how much everything costs, thus increasing the action, entertainment, turnover and profits. Standardized betting protects players from BAD BEATS and the definite ADVANTAGE of large banks. But also on the player’s side. The player is allowed To hide the strength of their hand, resulting in more frequent buys and better earnings, and finding the rhythm within the game. To bluff with an average hand in a good position, playing aggressively, thus waiting for free cards or opponent FOLDS, without the fear of receiving irrational bets and ALL INS.
